This mutation targeted exon 4, which is necessary for generation of a protein product that localizes to the nucleoplasm. A loxP site and a FRT-flanked neomycin cassette was placed upstream of exon 4 and an additional loxP site was placed downstream of the exon. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette leaving exon 4 floxed. (J:145628)
