Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA loxP site was introduced into intron 2 and a loxP and FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette downstream of exon 10. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination; after that, exons 3-10 were deleted through cre-mediated recombination, leaving exons 1, 2 and the duplicated 3' end of exon 10. Northern and Western blot experiments confirmed the absence of mRNA and protein expression from this allele. (J:298850)
