Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe 8529 bp transgene contains an endogenous mouse long-interspersed nuclear element 1 (LINE-1 or L1) promoter, the codon-optimized mouse L1 ORF1 and ORF2 sequences, an EGFP-based retrotransposition indicator cassette and an SV40 polyA sequence. Founder line SN1 was found to have one L1 transgene copy (using qPCR) inserted into the first intron of the mouse tenascin R locus (Tnr) on chromosome 1. It is unknown whether the transgene affects Tnr function. Of note, construct contains some sequence from mCherry/dsRed, however, no expression is detected. (J:244330)
