Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsCRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis induced a deletion of 334 base pairs, including the ATG codon. RT-PCR analysis showed that mRNA expression is significantly reduced in homozygous mutant testes. As the primers used for RT-PCR anneal downstream of the deleted region, it appears that mRNA is not transcribed or degraded rapidly. Although decreased protein expression could not be confirmed due to lack of appropriate antibody, authors believe that no protein is produced. (J:253644)
