Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(GFAP-ATXN7*10Q)2791Als expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA 2.2-kb human glial fibrillary acidic protein fragment of the promotor region drives the expression of a flag and c-myc tagged human ataxin-7 cDNA bearing 10 glutamines. Western blot analysis confirmed expression of the transgene. Immunostaining confirmed that expression is restricted to regions of the cerebellum in which Bergmann glia reside and is probably cytoplasmic or perinuclear. This is a moderate expressing line.
