• Mutation details: This mutation is a small in-frame deletion in exon 2 that results in the loss of exactly one copy of a duplicated 18-nucleotide sequence, which corresponds to the SPPADP (PEST-like domain) sequence of the encoded protein. The mutant protein expressed is 551-amino-acids-long with a small in-frame deletion of six residues in the N terminus. (J:223504)

Notes

This mutation is found in several strains of the 129 superfamily. ES cell lines CGR8 (129P2/OlaHsd) and D3 (129S2/SvPas) carry the mutation in the homozyogus state, and R1 cells (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1 carry the mutation in the heterozygous state, on the 129X1/SvJ derived chromosome. The mutation is not found in BALB/c, C3H/He, C57BL/6, NIH Swiss, M.m. Castaneus or M.m. Molossinus.
