Linkage analysis was performed on 266 female (B6.129P2-Apoetm1Unc/J x C.129P2(B6)-Apoetm1Unc)F2 intercross mice using 130 SNP markers to identify QTL associated with fasting plasma blood glucose level on a Chow diet.

QTL Bglu13 maps to 42.7 - 56.7 cM on Chromosome 5 with a peak LOD score of 6.72 at D5Mit312 (47.3 cM) in linkage with plasma blood glucose level. B6.129P2-Apoetm1Unc/J alleles confer increased susceptibility to higher plasma blood glucose levels on Chow diet with a dominant mode of inheritance.
