F2-intercross pedigree analysis of progeny from crosses between a single male of the outbred mouse line DU6 (selected for high body weight) and a DUKs female (a randomly mated control line) was used to map quantitative trait loci (QTL). A QTL linked withabdominal fat weight, Afw1, was placed at 51cM on mouse Chromosome 3. A QTL associated with abdominal fat percent, Afpq1, was placed at 46 cM. A QTL linked with kidney weight, Kwq2, was placed at 29 cM.
