Mutation details: The 186.8 kb C57BL/6 mouse bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) RP23-446O15 containing the entire Foxp3 gene and other genes, was modified by inserting sequence encoding GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) followed by a stop codon and the SV40 polyA signal, in frame with the start codon in exon 1 of the Foxp3 gene. None of the other loci on the BAC were modified. The construct is designed to prohibit expression of native or truncated Foxp3 protein.
