Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains a mouse promoter driving photoreceptor cell-specific expression of an EGFP with a 'sponge sequence' inserted into the 3' UTR of EGFP followed by an SV40 polyadenylation sequence. The sponge sequence contains 10 copies of each of sequences complementary to Mir183, Mir96 and Mir182 with mismatches at positions 9 through 12 to enhance stability. Lines SP1231, SP1135 and SP1128 were generated with high, mid and low transgene copy numbers, respectively. Immunohistochemistry does not reliably detect EGFP expression. (J:176614)
