description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer:    tamoxifen
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Tcf21tm3.1(cre/Esr1*)Eno expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA targeting vector was designed to replace exon 1 of the transcription factor 21,Tcf21 (capsulin; or epicardin) with a mercremer protein followed by a frt-flanked neo cassette. cre recombinase cDNA sequence flanked on each end with a mutated murine estrogen receptor (mer) ligand-binding domain. Flp-mediated recombination deletes the neo cassette. (J:188837)

Notes
The construct was electroporated into 129SvEvTac embryonic stem (ES) cells. Correctly targeted ES cells were injected into blastocysts and resulting chimeric mice were bred to C57BL/6 mice to establish a colony. These mice were subsequently bred to Tg(ACTFLPe)9205Dym mice to delete the neo cassette, and progeny were crossed to remove the Flp-expressing transgene.
