Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Acta2-cre)#Xya expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgenic vector contained the cre recombinase sequence and a neo/polyadenylation sequences inserted behind an Acta2 (alpha smooth muscle actin) promoter fragment (from -1010 to about +2582, including exon 1 and part of intron 1 referred to as SMP8). The construct was injected into fertilized F2 eggs from CBA mice. Four founders were obtained and two mice were chosen and crossed to reporter mice, demonstrating smooth muscle-specific cre activity. Line numbers were not indicated. (J:176490)
