Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Lck-cre)19Hhan expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe cre recombinase sequence was fused to a nuclear localization signal and inserted between the Lck promoter and the 3' untranslated fragment of the human beta-globin gene in the transgene. The construct was microinjected into male pronuclei of fertilized oocytes. Animals from 2 lines (19,20) were crossed mice carrying a floxed RBP-J allele to determine the activity of the cre transgene. Southern blot analysis of thymocytes from line #19 animals heterozygous for Rbpjtm1Hon showed complete deletion of the floxed locus. (J:168475)
