Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Gene trapped (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion of gene trap vector     Vector: pGT2Lxf     Vector Type: gene trap

Mutation detailsA gene trap vector inserted into intron 2. The resulting fusion transcript of the first two exons of the gene (encoding the first 73 amino acids) with the beta-geo cassette produces a chimeric protein missing over 90% of the coding region, which is expected to be nonfunctional. Western blot analysis using an antibody recognizing an internal epitope near the C-terminus confirmed the absence of protein expression in homozygous mutant embryonic fibroblast cell lysates. Notes
All BayGenomics gene trap mutations were generated in either CGR8 or E14TG2a (129P2/OlaHsd) parental ES cell lines, with the majority in subline E14TG2a.4. The specific ES cell line in which each mutation was made is not specified.
