Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(SV40-Igh-64C8)H3Hon expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene consists of a 1.3 kb fragment containing promoter and initiation sequence from SV40, a 0.4 kb cDNA fragment encoding the immunoglobulin heavy chain from the 4C8 hybridoma, a 1.8 kb fragment containing Igh-J3 and Igh-J4 and enhancer sequences, and a 12 kb fragment containing the major intron and Igh-6 from the genomic clones Ch-M-Ig-mu-18 and lambda gtWES-IgH714, respectively. The 4C8 hybridoma contains immunoglobulin genes that encode an anti-murine erythrocyte autoantibody. Seven lines were generated, this a representative record for all lines. The H3 line carries about 10 copies of the transgene on an autosome. RNase protection analysis confirmed expression of the transgene in lymphoid tissues. (J:139864)
