Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Nucleotide substitutions

Mutation detailsA neo cassette was inserted into exon 5 and a premature stop codon was introduced to truncate the product at codon 239 instead of at codon 361. This truncation eliminates the selenocysteine. The reduction in selenium binding was confirmed by autoradiography with a radioactive selenium tracer. (J:121127)
