• Mutation details: A BAC containing the Npy gene and 30 kb of upstream sequence and 90 kb of downstream sequence was used for targeting. A cre expression cassette was inserted into the ATG site of the first exon and the modified BAC was used to create transgenic animals. Cre expression in a subset of cortical neurons was confirmed by use of a virus containing a cre-dependent reporter gene. (J:68414)
