Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains 9.0 kb of upstream sequence from the rat tyrosine hydroxylase gene, the second intron of the rabbit beta-globin gene, the EGFP coding sequence and the rabbit beta-globin and SV40 polyadenylation signals. Ten copies are present per haploid genome of this line. Strong fluorescent signal is detected in typical catecholaminergic cell groups and in most dopaminergic neurons of the transgenic adult ventral midbrain. Embryonic expression begins in the dopaminergic neurons of the developing ventral midbrain around E11-E12, is dramatically reduced later in gestation, and gradually resumes postnatally. (J:131734)
