Notes
Two mutant mice strains developed within the same organization were found to have the same gene mutated. One strain was generated from a hybrid line of C57BL/6 x Swiss mice, with the antecedents of the Swiss mice having been treated with mustard gas. The second strain arose in a colony of C57BL/6Sfd mice whose antecedents had been treated with thalidomide. However, breeding between the two colonies may have occurred.
