Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Rxfp2-cre)1Aia expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene comprises the 2429 base pairs that reside immediately upstream of the translation initiation codon of the relaxin/insulin-like family peptide receptor 2 gene, a 1.1-kb DNA fragment containing a consensus Kozak sequence, and coding sequences for the nuclear localization signal of the SV40 large T antigen and for improved Cre recombinase (iCre). Examination of X-gal-stained tissues from male mice bearing both this and the Cre-reporter transgene Gt(ROSA)26tm1Sor demonstrate Cre expression in the testis, epididymis and cremaster muscle of the adult and in the developing testis, epididymis and gubernacular ligaments at embryonic day 14 (E14). RT-PCR analysis of male embryonic tissues confirmed this expression, though only weakly in the vas deferens. (J:122478)
