Mutation details: A neo cassette with a 3' loxP site followed by an alkaline phosphatase gene with a 3' loxP site was inserted into exon 3. Transient cre expression was used to knockin transgene composed of 5.0kp of promoter region and 600bp of 5'UTR and intron 1 of Penk1 fused to a lacZ cassette along with a portion of the Penk1 3'UTR between the alkaline phosphatase gene and the second loxP site. Expression of the insertion was confirmed by RT-PCR of the brain, heart and liver all of which expressed lacZ mRNA.
