MOLF/Ei mice were analysed to show that a number of modifier loci in that strain may effect the expression of mouse Chromosome 12 gene Dlk1. Matings of MOLF/Ei and C57BL/6J were informative in mapping one such modifier mdlk1 within a region of mouse Chromosome 7 that included markers D7Mit57, D7Mit294 and D7Mit267. For the purpose of placing mdlk1 on the genetic map MGI will use the cM assignment of D7Mit294 for mdlk1.
