Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:92935Genome scan was used to identify QTLs associated with antibody response regulation against infection with Salmonella typhimurium. 146 microsatellite markers were typed in 60 phenotypically extreme F2 animals from a (HIII x LIII)F2 intercross. The markers are spaced at an average of 9 cM and with 85% genome coverage Animals were injected twice intraperitoneally with 3.3 x 109 inactivated S.typhimurium at a 7 day interval. HIII is a high antibody responder strain whereas LIII is a low antibody responderstrain. Three novel QTLs reaching statistical significance of LRS>23 were identified.Ssta5 (susceptibility to Salmonella typhimurium antigens 5) mapped to 49 cM on mouse Chromosome 3 near D3Mit100 (LRS=24.3). The 95% confidence interval of Ssta5 spans 27 cM. Potential candidate genes Il12a (37 cM), Il6ra (42.1 cM), and Fcgr1 (45.2 cM) map near Ssta5.Ssta6 mapped to 38.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 8 near D8Mit249 (LRS=24.6). The 95% confidence interval of Ssta6 spans 26 cM. Potential candidate gene Il12rb1 (33.5 cM) maps near Ssta6.Ssta7 mapped to 34 cM on mouse Chromosome 9 near D9Mit248 (LRS=28.5). The 95% confidence interval of Ssta7 spans 23 cM. Potential candidate genes Il10ra (26 cM), Il18 (29 cM), and the Cd3 cluster (26 cM) map near Ssta7. Suggestive loci mapped to 80 cM on mouse Chromosome 5 near D5Mit292, 40 cM on mouse Chromosome 10 near D10Mit198, 58 cM on mouse Chromosome 12 near D12Mit19, and 19 cM on mouse Chromosome 13 near D13Mit117. |
