Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:93317
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Disruption caused by insertion of vector

Mutation detailsBeta-gal and a neomycin resistance gene were inserted into exon 3 following codon 22, thereby disrupting all four isoforms of the endogenous gene. Staining for Beta-gal showed intense expression of the mutant allele in photoreceptors and in some cells of the retinal ganglion cell layer, consistent with normal endogenous expression. (J:93317)
