Mutation details: LoxP sites were inserted to flank exons 3-5. An FRT-flanked promoterless Beta-galactosidase-neomycin cassette was inserted into intron 5. Crossing to mice expressing Flp recombinase in the germ line excises the FRT-flanked Beta-geo, leaving the loxP sites surrounding exons 3-5 and a single FRT site in intron 5.
