Mutation
origin
Mutant Cell Line:  NPX098
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:88490
Parent Cell Line:  Other (see notes) (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Gene trapped (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion of gene trap vector

Mutation detailsThe gene was disrupted by the random integration of the pGT1TMpfs gene trap vector into intron 1. The mutation results in the production of a fusion transcript consisting of sequences from exon 1 of Acly and Beta-geo. In heterozygotes, northern and western blot analyses showed an approximately 50% reduction in mRNA and protein expression. (J:88490)

Notes
All BayGenomics gene trap mutations were generated in either CGR8 or E14TG2a (129P2/OlaHsd) parental ES cell lines, with the majority in subline E14TG2a.4. The specific ES cell line in which each mutation was made is not specified.
mutant ES cell line = NPX098 (Bay Genomics). Bay Genomics has withdrawn this line from public access, according to their web site.
