Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:83543

QTLs associated with etomidate sensitivity and brain etomidate levels were mapped using 24 LSXSS recombinant inbred (RI) strains and (LS X SS)F2 animals. Parental strain LS exhibits greater sensitivity to etomidate (longer sleep time following injection with 20 mg/kg etomidate) compared to parental strain SS (shorter sleep time following injection with 20 mg/kg etomidate).

Etoms, a QTL for etomidate sensitivity, mapped to 18 cM on mouse Chromosome 12 with a peak LOD score of 3.43 near D12Mit46. Etoms also shows linkage to brain etomidate levels at D12Mit46 with a LOD score of 5.81. Suggestive QTLs for etomidate sensitivity mapped to 61 cM on mouse Chromosome 1 (LOD=2.48 at D1Mit215), 46 cM on mouse Chromosome 2 (LOD=2.91 cM at D2Mit25), 56.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 4 (LOD=2.38 at D4Mit27), 19.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 6 (LOD=2.28 at D6Mit48), 38.1 cM on mouse Chromosome 7 (LOD=2.48 at D7Mit91), and 50 cM on mouse Chromosome 16 (LOD=2.44 at D16Mit5). A significant interaction between D7Mit54 (16 cM on chromosome 7) and D12Mit3 (32 cM on chromosome 12) was detected with a maximum LOD score of 8.5.

A QTL associated with brain etomidate levels, Bel, mapped to 9.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 6 with a peak LOD score of 3.59 near D6Mit46. Suggestive QTLs for brain etomidate levels mapped to 36 cM on mouse Chromosome 2 (LOD=2.52 at D2Mit83), 54.4 cM on mouse Chromosome 4 (LOD=2.94 at D4Mit27), and 57.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 7 (LOD=3.17 at D7Mit66).
