description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Pklr-BCL2)#Ak expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA human BCL2 cDNA sequence under the regulatory control of a rat Pklr promoter was used for the transgene. Rat Pklr regulatory sequences were used to drive transgene expression in hepatocytes, enterocytes, and proximal tubular cells of the kidney. The Pklr region includes the promoter, exon 1, and part of exon 2. Expression of the transgene in intestine, pancreas, liver, and kidney was confirmed by Northern and Western blot analysis. (J:81129)

Notes
Transgenic lines A (2 copies) and B (10 copies) were established. All animals from both transgenic lines exhibit no obvious phenotype.
