Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:73609
Parent Cell Line:  Bruce 4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  B6.Cg-Thy1a
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted upstream of exon 6 and a third loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 9. Transient expression of Cre recombinase in ES cells excised the neo cassette. Western analysis using polyclonal antibodies against the amino terminus detected wild-type protein in hippocampi from homozygous mice. (J:73609)
