Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:69108

The authors attempted to map loci responsible for density differences density in submucosal glands as obseved in the trachea and exhibited between BALB/cAnN and C57BL/6N mice. CXB (C57BL/6J x BALB/cJ) Recombinant Inbred strains (RI) were informative to suggest that a locus on mouse Chromosome 9 between D9Mit104 and Mod1 contributed to the density differences. The locus was designated as Smgd1. The RI mapping position for Smgd1 was refined using QTL analysis in 235 F2 intercrossed (C57BL/6N x BALB/CanN) F1 mice. A significant associated of Smgd1and D9Mit35 with a LOD score ot 5.8 was indicated.
