Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:66744

In NZO mice susceptibility to obesity is due in part to leptin resistance conferred by a variant Lepr allele, however this same alleic form is found in non-obese NZW mice suggesting there may be NZO genes that interact with Lepr to cause obesity. In a genome wide scan NZO x (SJL X NZO) F1 mice were informative in mapping two QTLs to mouse Chromosomes 5 and 19: Nob1 mapped with D5Mit392 whereas Nob2 mapped with D19Mit91.
