Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsInsertion of a PGK-neomycin resistance cassette into the first coding exon disrupted the light-chain binding domain of the gene. The predicted truncated product of this allele is 11 amino acids long. Immunoblot analyses of brain using antisera to the microtubule-binding domain, to the carboxy-terminal imperfect repeats region, and to phosphorylated protein, detected little or no wild-type protein in homozygous mutant mice at postnatal day 4 and at 8 weeks of age. (J:41889)
