This mutation occurred in the F1 offspring of a neutron-irradiated male. Fur appearance is shiny as in greasy (Gs), satin (Foxq1 sa), or velvet (EgfrVelmice, but the mutation is not an allele of Gs, Foxq1, or Ve. The mutation is an autosomal recessive, but an occasional heterozygote can be identified by phenotype. Fertility is good and littersizes are normal (J:13612).
