Tme - recombinant
This locus is deleted in the Thp deletion and in the partial t haplotype, twLub2. This haplotype was recovered as a recombinant between the wild-derived twLub2 haplotype and a wild-type chromosome 17. Embryos heterozygous for either of these deletions die at a late embryonic stage if the deletion is inherited from the mother but not if it is inherited from the father (J:7679). Tme must be inherited from the mother in order for normal development to proceed through late stages of gestation. How this effect is produced is not understood. The alleles present in wild-type and t chromosomes are presumably identical. |
