Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:41742
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into the fourth exon of the gene. No ADPRT1 protein was present in homozygous mice as assayed by Western blot analysis and activity blot analysis using cells isolated from spleen and testis. (J:41742)

Notes
With respect to apoptosis, the absence of ADRP drastically increased the sensitivity of primary bone marrow cells to apoptosis induced by an alkylating agent (J:54159). ADPRP deficient cell lines established from homozygous null animals show decreased topoisomerase II activity (J:54143) as well as decreased DNA polymerase activity (J:56869). NOTE: The similarities and differences between the Parp1tm1Zqw and the Parp1tm1Jmdm alleles are reviewed in (J:53842).
