Assay
Reference: J:174488 Britz O, et al., A role for proneural genes in the maturation of cortical progenitor cells. Cereb Cortex. 2006 Jul;16 Suppl 1:i138-51
Assay type: In situ reporter (knock in)
MGI Accession ID: MGI:7790520
Gene symbol: Neurog2
Gene name: neurogenin 2
Reporter: GFP
Antibody: anti-GFP
Detection system: Secondary antibody coupled to Alexa Fluor 488
Results
Specimen 2K: embryonic day 15.5; Neurog2tm4Fgu/Neurog2+ (more )
Note: Embryos were exposed to one 2 hours prior to sacrifice and a second BrdU 30 minutes prior to harvesting to label S/G2/M-phase progenitors. Double labeled: green - Neurog2; red - BrdU.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS23: cerebral cortex ventricular layer Present 2K GFP-expressing cells were for the most part BrdU negative (9.5% double positive vs. 31.2% expected if GFP were expressed in S-phase).
TS23: cerebral cortex subventricular zone Present 2K The vast majority cells were GFP positive.

Specimen 2M: embryonic day 15.5; Neurog2tm4Fgu/Neurog2+ (more )
Note: Double labeled: green - Neurog2 reporter; red - Neurog2 protein (assay MGI:7790494).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS23: cerebral cortex ventricular layer Present 2M GFP was largely coexpressed with Neurog2.
TS23: cerebral cortex subventricular zone Present 2M The vast majority cells were GFP positive.
