Elavl3/4 staining as a marker for immature and differentiated neurons. Co-labeling with Nwd2 mRNA was detected in all Elavl3/4-immunopositive cells in the embryonic habenula. Almost all Nwd2-positive cells were positive for Elavl3/4.
