pm2. pink-eyed mottled-2. These two mutations arose in different radiation experiments. They have identical effects. In pm1 or pm2 heterozygotes with p, the coat consists of wild-type and typically p colored hairs intermingled in about equal proportions. Segregation is normal in both types of heterozygotes. pm1 and pm2 may act by producing wild-type pigment in some cells and p pigment in others at random (J:29504).
