Molecular description: A 3.2 kb fragment of the 5' upstream region of the human HCRT gene drives expression of cre and eGFP. The eGFP gene is separated from the cre gene by an IRES element. Cre activity was confirmed in most orexin containing neurons; however, no GFP expression was detected.
