Tg(Plp1-cre/ERT)3Pop - Endocrine System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(Plp1-cre/ERT)3Pop
transgene insertion 3, Brian Popko
Driver: Plp1
Type: Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer: tamoxifen
Synonym: PLP/CreER, Plp-CreERt, Plp-Cre-ERT2, Tg(Plp1-cre/ESR1)3.16Pop, Tg(Plp1-cre/ESR1)3Pop, Tg(Plp-cre/ESR1)3.16Pop
Molecular description: The transgenic construct encodes a tamoxifen-inducible fusion protein consisting of cre recombinase and a mutated human estrogen receptor ligand-binding domain cloned next to a Plp promoter. The 2.5 kb Plp regulatory region includes 5' flanking DNA, exon 1, and intron 1. Transgene expression was confirmed by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis. The mouse Plp promoter was used to drive transgene expression in myelinating cells.
