This QTL determines tasting of raffinose undecaacetate (RUA). Strains able to taste RUA include BALB/c, DBA/2 and C3H; those unable to taste RUA include C57BL/6. Other bitterness tasting QTL, Cyx and Qui, are also on Chr 6 and linked to Prh1 (proline rich salivary protein), which may be a candidate.
