Gv1 and Gv2 control GIX antigen on thymocytes of mice with positive alleles at both loci. Allele a (presence of GIX) is seen in 129, CE, AKR, SJL, DBA/2, C3H/An, 101, C58, A and I; allele b (absence) in C57BL strains, BALB/c, CBA/J, RF/J, MA/J and SWR. Heterozygotes have half the amount of antigen.
