Mutation details: The construct contains a Map2/EGFP fusion gene linked to the chicken beta-actin promoter and a floxed transcription and translation STOP cassette. Cre-mediated excision of the STOP permits expression of the microtubule-specific reporter. Pronuclear injection of the linearized construct resulted in generation of 12 founders. Five of eight founder lines showed reporter expression when crossed to Camk2a-cre mice. One line (F29) was characterized further. This line was estimated to carry 5-10 copies of the transgene.
