Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Thy1-SNCA*A30P)18Pjk expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene is composed of a mouse Thy1 promoter, a human alpha synuclein (SNCA) cDNA encoding an alanine to proline substitution at amino acid 30 (A30P), and exon 4 of mouse Thy1, which contains polyadenylation signals. The A30P mutation is found in human patients with severe early onset Parkinson disease. Transgene expression is detected in the spinal cord and most areas of the brain except the substantia nigra.
