Notes
  • Experiment
NZB/Slc animals develop autoimmune phenotypes similar to human lupus nephritis, such as proteinuria and production of anti-histone and anti-DNA autoantibodies. The NZW/Slc strain does not develop autoimmune disease. NZW.NZB-Tcrb, a congenic line derived from NZB/Slc donor DNA at the Tcrb locus (20.5 cM) on mouse Chromosome 6 on a NZW/Slc genetic background, were crossed to the susceptible NZB/Slc parent. (NZW.NZB-Tcrb x NZB/Slc)F1 animals exhibit decreased anti-dsDNA antibodies and decreased proteinuria incidence compared to (NZB/Slc x NZW/Slc)F1 animals. A locus named Ads4 (anti dsDNA antibody 4) is thought to reside within the Tcrb-linked congenic interval.
