NZM2410 mice originate from an (NZB x NZW) cross. In order to construct congenic strains of mice which contain selected Sle loci, the authors backcrossed NZM2410 mice to C57BL/6J mice six succesive times, screening progeny with PCR or SSR markers for specific genomic intrevals. Once each congenic line was constructed, authors sought to further define the congenic intervals of each line. To this end authors typed B6.NZMc4 mice and determined the following order of markers on mouse Chromosome 4: D4Mit6 - D4Mit139 - D4Mit151 - D4Mit17 - D4Mit7 - D4Mit27 - Tyrp1b - D4Mit9 - D4Mit205 - D4Mit28 - D4Mit187 - D4Mit119 - D4Mit118 - D4Mit167 - D4Mit331 - D4Mit57 - D4Mit12 - D4Mit201 - D4Nds2 - D4Mit16 - D4Mit154.
