  NZM2410 mice originate from an (NZB x NZW) cross. In order to construct congenic strains of mice which contain selected Sle loci, the authors backcrossed NZM2410 mice to C57BL/6J mice six succesive times, screening progeny with PCR or SSR markers for specific genomic intrevals. During this screening process, the authors mapped the following order of loci on mouse Chromosome 4: D4Mit1 - D4Mit17 - Sle2 - D4Mit9 - D4Mit12 - D4Mit33.
