Notes
  • Experiment
Microsatellite sequences were used as co-dominant markers to identify/map NOD mouse intervals containing recessive susceptibility alleles of insulin-related diabetes-associated genes. These intervals were transferred to C57BL/6, a resistant strain background, to produce 6 congenic strains. A gain of phenotype strategy was used in their construction. B6.NODc3 mice contain intervals Idd3 (Il2) and Idd10 (Tshb); the order of associated markers was reported as D3Mit132 - Il2 - D3Nds1 - Tshb over a distance of 43 cM on mouse Chromosome 3.
