    Physical mapping of Smyd1 and Cd8b indicated that these genes are aligned head to head on mouse Chromosome 6. Smyd1 and Cd8b are transcribed in opposite directions. The promoter regions of Bop and Cd8b are contained within 923 bps and are separated by approximately 245 bps of intergenic sequence.
