  • Experiment
Genomic DNA from C3H/HeJ-gld/gld mice was digested with rare cutting enzymes to physically map Cd2, Atp1a1, Ngfb, Tshb and Ampd1 using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). The following minimum fragment sizes were detected: Cd2 and Atp1a1 were detected on a 580kb NaeI band; Ngfb, Tshb, and Ampd1 were detected on 950 and 1250kb SacII bands; Cd2, Atp1a1, and Ngfb were detected on a 2300kb NruI band; Ngfb and Tshb were detected on 290 and 580kb BssHII bands; and Tshb and Ampd1 were on a 410kb SacII band. The gene order Cd2 - Atp1a1 - Ngfb - Tshb - Ampd1 was established with a maximum length for the Cd2 - Ampd1 interval of 2130kb.
